NOS/NIB Shimano Uniglade (UG) Cassette | 6 Speed | 13-24T

Rare Shimano Uniglide 6-speed cassette with classic 13-15-17-19-21-24T gearing. The cassette is NOS/NIB (New Old Stock / New In Box) – unused and in its original packaging. A great choice for restoring an older Shimano-equipped road bike or for collectors looking for original Shimano components in unused condition.

Shimano Uniglide

Uniglide is Shimano’s earlier cassette/freewheel system, used before the introduction of Hyperglide (HG). With the Uniglide system, the sprockets are mounted on the splines of the freehub body. The individual sprockets – except for the outermost one – are not threaded. The smallest sprocket, however, is threaded and screws onto the threaded end of the Uniglide freehub body, also serving as the lockring. This distinguishes the system from the later Hyperglide system, where the cassette is secured with a separate lockring. Please note: This is a Uniglide cassette and is intended for compatible older Shimano Uniglide freehub hubs. It should not be confused with a standard modern Shimano Hyperglide cassette.

For restoration and collecting

An interesting original Shimano component for restoring older road bikes, where period- and component-correct authenticity is important. The original 13-15-17-19-21-24T gearing also provides a classic, close-ratio 6-speed setup that works well with older road and racing bikes. Condition: NOS/NIB – unused, original packaging.
